Sacraments

The word Sacrament comes from the Latin word sacramentum which means "a sign of the sacred." The seven sacraments are ceremonies that point to what is sacred, significant and important for Christians. They are special occasions during which we experience God's saving presence. Consequently, sacraments are referred to as signs and instruments of God's grace.

The seven sacraments recognized in the Anglican Church are: Baptism, Holy Eucharist, Reconciliation or Confession, Confirmation, Marriage, Holy Orders, and Anointing of the Sick.
